On Sunday, May 1, 2011, U.S. troops and CIA operatives shot and killed Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad, Pakistan, a city of 500,000 people that houses a military base and a military academy. A gun battle broke out when the troops descended upon the building in which bin Laden was located, and bin Laden was shot in the head. News of bin Laden's death brought cheers and a sense of relief worldwide.
"For over two decades, Bin Laden has been Al Qaeda's leader and symbol," said President Barack Obama in a televised speech. "The death of bin Laden marks the most significant achievement to date in our nation's effort to defeat Al-Qaeda. But his death does not mark the end of our effort. There's no doubt that Al-Qaeda will continue to pursue attacks against us. We must and we will remain vigilant at home and abroad."

"U.S. President Barack Obama was preparing to announce Osama bin Laden was dead when word got out and crowds started gathering late Sunday outside the White House in Washington and at Ground Zero in New York City.
From Times Square to Ground Zero to the White House, the familiar chant of "USA , USA" resonated as citizens learned that the Osama bin Laden was dead.
The announcement sparked immediate jubilation. In Time Square, people gathered around giant news tickers to see the latest updates. Pam Sather recalls the moment she heard the world's most wanted terrorist was dead."

Bin Laden's 1996 fatwā is entitled "Declaration of War against the Americans Occupying the Land of the Two Holy Places". This document is sometimes called the
Ladenese epistle, a term derived from bin Laden's surname. It is a long piece, and complains of American activities in numerous countries. It was faxed to supporters across the world.
FATWA 1998 reached al-Quds al-Arabi by fax, and was signed by five people, four of whom represented (or were said by the newspaper to represent) specific Islamist groups:
- Osama bin Laden
- ,Ayman al- Zawahiri "emir of the Jihad Group in Egypt", now known as Egyptian Islamic Jihat
- Ahmad Rafae Taha alias Abu Yasser, of a- Gama'a at Islamiyya (in Egypt). This endorsement was retracted because of the enormous unpopularity of terrorism in Egypt following the Luxor massacre of tourists and Egyptians by al-Gama'a al-Islamiyya. Taha explained his signature to fellow members of the Islamic Group saying he had only been asked over the telephone to join in a statement of support for the Iraqi people.
- Mr.Hamzah the"secretary of the "Jamaat Islami of Pakistan", or so he claimed
- Fazul Rahman, "emir of the Jihad Movement in Bangladesh", probably Harakat ul-Jihad-i-Islami/Bangladesh or HUJI-B; HUJI itself is in Pakistan.

-* All the proclaimation concerning Ben Laden and his ' sins' were to these days, left un investigated . All what the west gave him, were mere wild , biased, prejudiced, pre conceived and ' cooked up ' evidents. Till now, peoples of the world are in suspiciously doubts .
- And the images and feelings of the peoples of the world were distorted by a well planned and organised jewish israel and its proxies that are America , British and Australia through theirs cunning media
-* This world will be peacefull and a nice place to live if ISRAEL and the jews " disappeared in its existence " forever. And America stop from been a BIG BULLY.
-** Osama ben Laden was only their scape goat. To a well planned agendas of the USA, in order to get legal killing license, which will enable them to kill, without mercies to any and all moslim anywhere they are..
-* I strongly believed that, all these planned activities of the American were solely aimed to the advantages of the zionists. and to please them.
* And its another ' Media Con " by USA and his allies in order to create another 'bluff' scenarios
